| Future Demands |
|
| Teachers will have to shape up so that they possess the skills in applied technology, to be able to use state-of-the-art hardware and computer programmes in the a networked teaching environment. Ability to use numerically-based information such as statistics, graphs, flow charts and spreadsheets, would be an asset. The initial feedback from US public schools, about Indian teachers, is positive. Of course, it remains to be seen if the teachers would like to pursue this in the long term, as teaching does pay comparatively less than most other occupations in the US. |

| Teaching is a highly noble profession; suited specially to women. As the field is so vast having varied areas of specialization, different skills and types of training are required for different levels. With the intention of providing world class professional education in this teacher education stream IPS has offered a one year B. Ed. programme. This course is designed for secondary school teachers. Main reason for opting this career could be interest in subject, secure professional career and regular annual vacations. It can also be a second career for those who have retired from professional services. After doing B. Ed. course a person may opt for teacher training college (College of education) and educational research institute, special school and self-employment by starting institute and tutorials. |

| College of Education has well furnished and well stocked air-cooled library. The ever-growing library is a vast sea of information for inquisitive minds. About 3000 text books of 250 authors covering 1200 titles and 150 reference books are available in the library. The Library subscribes to 10 national and 4 international journals along with English & Hindi newspapers and periodicals which provide interesting reading and in-depth research knowledge. To nourish the minds with the latest information and to gain knowledge, Internet facility for on line research has been provided. The reading hall of the library provides conducive environment for complete concentration. |

| We have a sophisticated, well established and properly equipped science lab. This lab is spacious, ventilated and designed scientifically. It is well stocked with equipments and apparatus and is run by qualified staff. Detailed attention has been paid to the safety aspect in the planning and functioning of theses state of art laboratories. It provides an ideal set up for students to put their knowledge to practice. Models, charts and other teaching aids are provided for teaching practice. |

| The institution has a well established psychology laboratory specifically designed for evaluating the educational interest, intelligence, personality traits, mental ability etc. Personality development is the main aim of the laboratory. Expert psycho-lecturers always support the students to enhance their ability to the fullest extent. The laboratory includes the tests for educational interest, mental ability, personality achievement and intelligence etc. Instrumental tests like performance test of intelligence by Alexander pass along and mirror facing board etc. are also available. Every students gets an opportunity to get hands on these sophisticated instruments. |
