   IPS-The proud winner at M.P. State Inter-University Youth Festival
   
The immensely talented team of IPS College won the second prize in skit competition at M.P. State Inter- University Youth Festival organized by Jiwaji University, Gwalior in January’09. This Youth Festival was sponsored by the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of M.P. The team enacted a skit titled ‘Kalyug Ki Kursi’. This team had also bagged the first prize at district and inter-district level youth festival.
 
Vaibhav Sharma, Anshul Sharma, Sumit Gangil, Rishi Gangil and Deepak Singh all from BCA 1st year acted brilliantly in the skit. The skit was directed by Mr. Anil Sharma and Avinash Pathak. and was coordinated by Mr. Rajendra Nigam.
 
 
IPS in a lighter mood -‘VILAY-09’
   
The most awaited annual function ‘VILAY-09’ was organized in the IPS campus from 4th to 7th of March, 2009. The entire campus was filled with an exciting aura of practices and rehearsals to win the inter-college competitions that were organized in three categories - Sports, Academics and Cultural Bonanza. The events in the sports category were held on 4th and 5th of March.
 
This included 100m and 200m races (men and women), 4X100m relay race (men), long Jump and discuss throws. Inter-college badminton and volleyball matches were also organized.
 
The academic activities like debate, extempore and quiz competitions were held on 5th of March, 2009. The day 6th of March, 2009 was the day of cultural bonanza. Prizes were distributed on7th of March, 2009 in the presence of the honorable chairperson Mrs. Shobha Mishra, Chief Guest and other guests and invitees.
 
   
The first day of the annual function was inaugurated by Dr. Arun Kumar Tyagi, Director IPS Group of Colleges and it marked the opening of the various track and field events. On this occasion Ms. Sonal Mehta, Assistant Director, Mr. P.K. Ghosh, Chief Administrative Officer and all the Principals and Faculty members of IPS Group of Colleges were present.
 
The second day ie. 5th of March, 09 was the day of academic competitions. Selected students from all the colleges participated in the debate, extempore and quiz competition with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Poster Making, Collage and 'Think Beyond' were competitions based on creativity and were much praised by one and all.
 
The third day of the annual function was the day of ‘Cultural Bonanza’ a colourful treat to the audience. Various cultural competitions were organized such as-solo songs, group songs, solo dances, group dances and skits. The great day was inaugurated by the Chief Guest of the day, Mrs. Shobha Mishra, Chairperson of IPS Group of Colleges by lighting the lamp. Mrs. Mishra in her inaugural speech said that cultural programmes are an essential part of any academic institute.Students learns to treasure the cultural richness of India by bringing alive the much forgotten folk songs and dances. Such programmmes rejuvenate students. On this occasion Mr. Deepak Bajpai, Secretary and Mr. Yogesh Mishra Treasurer of IPS Group of Colleges were also present.
 
   
Director of IPS Group of Colleges Dr. Arun Kumar Tyagi welcomed all the guests. Dr. Rama, Programme, told about the aim of organizing such activities in the campus.

The colourful Rajasthani folk dance became the focus of the day and was appreciated and applauded by the audience.
 
The closing day marked the prize distribution ceremony. Dr. Arun Kumar Tyagi welcomed all the dignitaries. Prof. Chitranjan Jyotishi, Vice Chancellor of Raja Man Singh Tomar Sangeet & Art University, Gwalior was the Chief Guest for the day along with Mrs. Shobha Mishra Chairperson of IPS Group of Colleges being the guest of honour. Prof. Chitranjan Jyotishi in his address to the students said that they should respect their teachers and in turn the teachers should teach them in such a way that students could reach the zenith of success.
 
   
There should be parental relationship between teachers and students. Students should also make efforts to conserve our culture. On this occasion all the winners of different competitions were awarded by Prof. Chitranjan Jyotishi and Mrs. Shobha Mishra. At the end of the programme vote of thanks was given by programme coordinator Dr. Rama Tyagi.
 
 
The Rendezvous 09 - Ek Mulakat
   
Introduction Party of IPS College of Technology and Management “The Rendezvous 09- Ek Mulakat” was organized on February’ 09. This programme was inaugurated by Dr. Arun Kumar Tyagi, Director and Mr. P.K. Ghosh, Chief Administrative Officer of IPS Group of Colleges. The celebrations began by reciting Saraswati vandana and seeking blessings of goddess Saraswati.
 
Freshers presented cultural programmes like group songs, group dances, solo dances and solo songs and introduced themselves. All the staff members of IPS group of colleges were present during this programme. The programme was a combination of introduction of newcomers and cultural events. A catwalk was organized to choose Mr. & Ms. Fresher.
   
 
 
A Lecture by Mr. Sharu Rangnekar on “Management of Change”
   
A lecture was organized on Management Change in the Department of Management of IPS CTM on 23rd of March’ 09 . This one day lecture was delivered by the famous management consultant of Mumbai Shri Sharu Rangnekar. Shri Sharu Rangnekar was welcomed by Dr. George Thomas, HOD, Management Department, IPSCTM.
 
Shri Sharu Rangnekar said that an efficient manager should be ready to take risk and to face any challenges. A Manager only decides what necessary changes are required in the prevailing conditions. A manager should be ready to face the change. There are three things required to manage the change - knowledge, belief and behaviour. This effect is called TINA (there is no alternative). Every organization should be ready to face the sudden challenges and to increase their productivity.
 
Shri Rangnekar showed many films based on management change. He said that changes are of three types i.e. continuous changes, discontinuous changes and tsunami changes. All the managers should be aware of all these kind of changes. All the students of the management department participated in this lecture and appreciated the lecture. Vote of thanks was given by Mr. Anil Singh.
   
 
 
A Technical Session By Mr. Siddharth Satya Praksah Program Manager, Microsoft, New, Mumbai on .NET/SQL Server
 
   
A one day interactive technical session on. NET/ SQL Server was organized at IPS Group of Colleges on 2nd April’ 09. In this session lecture was delivered by Mr. Siddharth Satya Prakash, Program Manager at Microsoft, Mumbai. Initially Mr. Siddharth Satya Praksah told the students about the progress of Microsoft Company.
 
He also spoke on the importance and utility of .NET / SQL Server in the field of information technology. He also enlightened students about the Microsoft Students Partner (MSP) programme and said that Technical Clubs should be established at institute level. Through these technical clubs students can contact experts of the company; they can share ideas with the experts and can put their queries before experts. Students also can download some software free of cost from the website of the company.

In this interactive session students put up very logical and high order questions before Mr. Siddharth, like what security features can be added to .dot Net / SQL technology? How data can be saved from hacking?

Dr. George Thomas, Principal, IPS College of Technology & Management, welcomed and introduced Mr. Siddharth to the students. On this occasion all the principals and faculty members of the IPS group of colleges were present. All the students of BE (CSE) & BCA were the beneficiary of this session.
 
 
Blood Donation Camp By NSS Unit at College of Pharmacy
   
Dr. K.K. Pandey Jayarogya Hospital Group blood bank told students about the importance of blood donation and its benefits. He said that after donating blood, new blood is formed and our immune system gets strong. Dr. D.C. Sharma incharge of JAH Blood Bank was also present. Program Officer of institute NSS unit Mr. Navneet Garud welcomed all the guests and students.
 
The camp began by Dr. Arun Kumar Tyagi Director, IPS Group of Colleges donating blood for social cause. In the camp 41 units of blood was donated. Teaching and non-teaching staff members and students participated in the camp. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Atul Kaushik, Principal, Institute of Professional Studies, College of Pharmacy.
