National Service Scheme (IPS Group of Colleges)

National Service Scheme, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Govt. of India, popularly known as NSS was established and working efficiently to achieve its object since 2009.

The main objectives of National Service Scheme (NSS) are :

  • Understand the community in which they work
  • Understand themselves in relation to their community
  • Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving.
  • Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility
  • Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems
  • Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities
  • Gain skills in mobilizing community participation
  • Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes
  • Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and
  • Practice national integration and social harmony
The program officer is Mr. Alok Pathak and this institutional unit has more than 100 dedicated volunteers.

Major programs which have been organized by NSS unit are:

  • State level vocational training camp for a period of 7 days.
  • Regular blood donation camps (twice a year).
  • Regular health awareness camp at adopted village Naugaon, Dist. Gwalior.
  • Activities related to social welfare like tree plantation, child education, first aid training to volunteers, awareness related to personal hygiene, natural calamities, communicable disease were regularly organized by this unit.
